¡Arriba España! is a documentary on the Spanish Civil War and its impact on Spanish society, featuring testimonials, interviews and key sound and photo documents. With its masterful treatment of documentary materials, it is considered to be the most pungent analysis of the Franco regime in film.

The film summarises 30 years of Spanish history. Using archive materials and interviews from the 1936-1973 period and editing news shows, documentary films and interviews with contemporary politicians from both rightist and leftist parties, it shows the turning points in the history of Franquismo, including the assassination of Luis Carrero Blanco. A devastating attack on a terrible historical experience.
