Long stay. For 25 years, the pair of artists, Tove Jansson and Tuulikki Pietilä, went to the island of Klovharu, in the Gulf of Finland every summer, with a close-up of a paradise that was mathematical in this case: between 1964 and 1990 and always from May to September. Jansson, the famous writer of children’s stories about the Mumin family, narrates the tale. Her partner, the graphic artist, Tuulikki Pietilä, filmed it in 20 hours on Super8. 25 years on a remote island are enough to know that when all of the pulses of nature fail, all that is left is to celebrate it. Then is the time to dance with your shadow, dissect the clouds, keep a diary called Landscape Changes or talk to a pigeon called Pellura, which answers back.
