Ten years after Jour après jour, Jean-Paul Fargier returns to Pollet to rebuild his vital itinerary, his creative contribution to the history of film. Fargier strings together the recurring obsessions and reasons of the filmmaker and makes them engage in dialogue: Greece, Melki, the texts of his films, fiction versus non-fiction, movement versus still images, or the idea of the " concentrated duration"; using a counterpoint of fragments of Pollet’s filmography, valuable interviews with the filmmaker from the 1970s to shortly before his death, and even fragments of some making of, all of which is united with Fargier’s first person viewpoint, his direct experience as a spectator, critic, collaborator, admire of his work. Jean-Daniel, parle moi encore! adds a chapter to the prestigious Filmmakers of our Time series by André S. Labarthe and Janine Bazin, and Punto de Vista is proud to present its world premiere.
