Eleven feature films and six short films from eleven different countries will make the Official Selection at the Navarra International Documentary Film Festival – Punto de Vista, to be held in Pamplona from 19 to 24 February 2013. The Festival is organised by INAAC Foundation for the Government of Navarra.

After watching 1441 documentary films (782 entered this year and 659 last year, when the Festival finally did not take place), the Selection Committee chose the titles below to be in competition at the Festival.

The selected films will be candidates to win the Punto de Vista Grand Award for Best Film (€10,000), the Jean Vigo Award for Best Director (€5,500) and the Award for Best Short Film (€3,500). In addition, there will be a People’s Choice Award (€2,500) and two optional Honourable Mentions, granted by the Jury (€1,250 each).

The members of the 8th Punto de Vista Jury are Christian von Borries (filmmaker and musician, Germany), Bill Brown (filmmaker, USA), José Luis Cienfuegos (Director of the Seville Film Festival), J.P. Sniadecki (filmmaker, winner of the 7th Punto de Vista Grand Award, USA) and Ana Isabel Strindberg (film programmer, Portugal).

As to the Selection Committee, its members were Josetxo Cerdán (Punto de Vista Artistic Director), Gonzalo de Pedro (Punto de Vista Programming Coordinator), Miguel Fernández Labayen (faculty, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid), Elena Oroz (documentary film journalist) and Maite Bermúdez (filmmaker).
