The Government of Navarra believes annual frequency is adequate for an event like the Punto de Vista Film Festival. Accordingly, the regional authorities are organising next year’s Festival with the cooperation of the Baluarte Foundation, replicating this year’s format. This means that the 2016 Festival will be jointly produced with this Foundation and run by the Navarra Department of Culture.
In its 10th edition, Punto de Vista will have a new executive director, Fernando Pérez (Navarra Director-General of Culture), who is replacing Ana Herrera, who has been appointed Secretary of Culture of the Government of Navarra and has worked for Punto de Vista since it was first held in 2005. Since then, there have been three artistic directors: Carlos Muguiro, Josetxo Cerdán, Oskar Alegria. In 2012 and 2014, the Festival was held under the international conference format.
The 10th Punto de Vista is being held from 8 to 14 February, one week earlier than past editions. Moreover, the programme will kick off one day ahead: the first screenings from the Official Selection will be on Monday 8, following an opening film. As a result, there will be more content – a gift for spectators to reward their loyalty ten-year loyalty and support. The closing ceremony will also take place one day ahead, on Saturday 13 instead of Sunday 14, the Festival’s traditional closing day.
