With a family conflict in the background, the director travelled to Navarra to film a documentary about old traditions. Moral limits reveal themselves in the process, when she realised what she was really doing: camera in hand, she went into houses in villages and got to know traditional families that, like hers, had been marked by an old hereditary tradition.
Francina Verdés (Guissona, Lleida, 1978). A journalist by training, Francina Verdés specialises in communication and armed conflicts. She currently works as a freelance journalist in the sphere of international communication and the dissemination and production of arts projects. She alternates her journalistic work with that of an independent documentary film-maker and director. She came into contact with documentary film in 2007, when she joined the Master's degree in Creative Documentary at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where she made her first documentary project “Ja tornes a gravar”, an intimate, short on a family theme, about the memory and death of a loved one. She has worked as a producer on several documentaries since then, including “El conserje”, “Entre cirerers” and “Sueñero”. As a film-maker, she works in a direct, close cinema that portrays characters immersed in conflict situations, intimate but also collective. Her work includes the documentaries “Ja tornes a gravar” (2008), “Coses rares que passaven abans” (2012) and “Teresa sin mar” (2012), her first feature.
