PLAT is the new initiative launched by Kinora, the Association for Audio Visual Literacy, Research and Dissemination, established by Beatriz Navas and Víctor Berlin in 2009.
Kinora takes a comprehensive approach to film. Its activities include audio visual programming, film criticism, academic research, teaching and direct participation in independent filmmaking.
PLAT is a film library that is the result of two-year work including surveys and exchanges of ideas with filmmakers and film lovers. It is aimed creating a plural vision of Spanish film, thus reaching a wider audience. It is a 100% independent platform, a legal and transparent non-profit private collective initiative. Committed to self-management, financial independence, and immediate free access to contents, it enables users to contact authors/artists directly. To avoid source of finance dependence, PLAT draws on member involvement and interaction with audiences.
