Audience training and community work in Pamplona are some of Punto de Vista’s central objectives. Aimed primarily at young audiences, this programme proposes a series of activities to raise awareness and audiovisual appreciation. This year's edition will concentrate on the importance of sound and will include different workshops, sessions and screenings at several festival venues. Xabier Erkizia, Paula Olaz and the group Pixelatu will be laying on a range of workshops on the sound dimension and musical composition in film.
In the audiovisual field, the image has always been the main protagonist and yet, it is in the sound dimension where the credibility of a film lies, to a great extent. In this Foley workshop we will discover the narrative dimension of sound by focusing on perception and sound production. We will invite participants to "see the sounds" and "hear the images" of a film; and we will collectively create the soundtrack of a sequence, using recording and editing software, everyday objects from and a lot of imagination.
In this workshop aimed at young people, we will discover the world behind music composition for film. We will investigate the composition process of an animated soundtrack, due to its special musical treatment, diverse sonorities and synchrony. We will also talk about the musical narrative in animation and the process of selecting certain musical colour palettes. The workshop includes a live musical intervention of the composition process for animation films.
The poet, essayist and thinker Ramón Andrés and the artist and producer Xabier Erkizia will talk about the culture of listening, music and life.
Session with Xabier Erkizia, a musician, producer and sound artist, whose work focuses on research and curiosity for any creation that involves listening and sound.
