Moving Cinema Young Programmers x Punto de Vista is a scheduling space run by young people aged 16-20 that will select and present a special session at the festival dedicated to short films. Accompanied by film-maker Patxi Burillo, the group of Young Programmers will watch and discuss several pieces by film-makers tied to the X Films and Termitas programmes in order to design the session, which will be presented by members of the group itself during the course of the festival.
Coming up with a film schedule requires watching films closely, knowing the work of the film-maker(s) involved, building relationships, thinking about how to present them in a way that creates a unique experience for the audience, and to create ways to accompany and support them so they can be more widely discovered and appreciated. While undertaking this process, the Young Programmers forge a very special bond with the films they see, schedule and show.
Young Programmers x Punto de Vista forms part of the European Moving Cinema project launched and led by A Bao A Qu since 2014. The project is also supported by the Spanish Ministry of Culture. It has been a part of Punto de Vista since 2022 in partnership with Pamplona City Council through the Civivox network and the Youth Institute of Navarre.
A Bao A Qu is a cultural association that was set up in 2004 to specifically undertake projects that combine creation and education, involving children and young people, creators (film-makers, photographers, artists, etc.) and teachers. The programmes developed by the association include Cine en curso, Fotografía en curso, and Artistas en residencia en los institutos de Barcelona, and the European projects Moving Cinema, Inside Cinema and CinEd.
