La Calle del Agua

La Calle del Agua

Celia Viada Caso, Spain, 2020, 70 min.

Benjamina Miyar (1888 - 1961) lived a rather unusual life in her house on Calle del Agua in the foothills of the Picos de Europa mountain range. A photographer and watchmaker for over 40 years, she was also part of the resistance against the Franco regime. Her life and work disappeared after she died. La Calle del Agua shows the meeting between two women who share the same place but in different times, the sketch of a portrait that emerges from the remembered and from what has faded over time.
