Doklab Navarra

The Navarrese residency for documentary cinema, Doklab Navarra, continues to work together with Punto de Vista one more year by publicly presenting its projects before a jury of experts.

This presentation concludes the third and last phase in the third edition of Doklab Navarra, after completing the face-to-face phase, run over two weeks in September in the Palacio de Olza, and the virtual phase, with online supervision and masterclasses. The aim of Doklab Navarra is to discover unique projects and help them to reach the international market.

Ana Mª Peláez, Elodie Mellado, Leire Ariz and Marias Recarte will make up the jury of the pitch session that will evaluate the projects of the documentary filmmakers participating in the third edition of Doklab Navarra.

 

ANA Mª PELÁEZ - RTVE

Executive producer of documentaries at RTVE. Select projects for the RTVE catalog through the ‘Promueve’ initiative. Coordinates the relationship between the press, corporate image, marketing and press departments at RTVE. In addition, it participates in festivals, markets, and development laboratories to publicize documentary projects promoted by Spanish production companies. She has more than 25 years of experience in the sector, press, radio, television, content management on social networks and communication.

 

ELODIE MELLADO - FILMIN

Educated in Audiovisual Communication at the Rovira i Virgili University, she has worked since 2012 on the Catalan VOD platform, Filmin, where she is editorial coordinator and programmer, both of the platform and the festival organized by Filmin, Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest. Since 2020, she has also been programming at the REC, Tarragona International Film Festival and in 2022 she joins the team of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Film Festival in the Panorama Spain section.

 

LEIRE ARIZ - PRODUCCIONES DEL KO

Journalist and producer. In 2020, she founded the production company ‘Producciones del KO’ together with the publishing house specialized in journalistic chronicle Libros del KO. She has produced the documentary-series 'La Liga de los Hombres Extraordinarios' (Movistar+) and 'Todo Cambia' (RTVE); the feature-length documentary 'Day laborers, the bad boss'; and the documentary podcasts 'Lunaticas' and 'Si no saber de mí', nominated for a Gabo Award and an Ondas Award for Best Narrative Podcast. Previously, she has also worked at the production company ‘93 metros’, where she has been responsible for the development of documentary projects and part of the script and research team for series such as 'Clandestino' (Discovery Channel). In addition, she combines her work with teaching as an associate professor of 'Documentary and Reportage' at the Carlos III University and as an expert teacher at the RTVE Institute.

 

MARIAS RECARTE - EN CERO COMA

Journalist, director and television executive. She has worked in the management teams of some of the most relevant companies in the audiovisual sector in Spain such as Bambú Producciones, Warner Bros ITVP, and 93 Metros. In 2022 she joins as Executive Producer and Content Director in Freemantle's new documentary projects label: En Cero Coma. Her job is to create, research and direct new projects from their origin to sales and production. Highlights include the feature films and documentary series 'Los Williams' (Netflix), 'El rescate que conmocionó al mundo' (Movistar+), ‘El Loco, los silencios de Quintero' (RTVE Play), 'Isabel, Mi Navidad' (Disney+). She has more than 25 years of experience in the audiovisual sector, especially in the documentary genre. In addition to creation, business strategy, team management and content production.
