Music at Punto de Vista

Punto de Vista will feature a musical programme that, as in previous years, is to accompany its bill of documentary film. The festival is once again to include concerts, DJ sessions and Radio 3 programmes with live music at different venues around the city. These activities are in partnership with the Navarra Music Commission and Radio 3, as well as the venues Txintxarri, Tarántula and Laba. The programme kicks off on Wednesday afternoon, 15th April, at Laba, which will be hosting a presentation of the festival by its organisers, before finishing off with a concert by Anavi. This project by Ana Villayandre offers an experience that shifts between contemporary music and Iberian and Navarrese folk, presented this time in an intimate three-piece format. Punto de Vista Nights will be happening mainly at the bar Txintxarri and at the Tarántula venue, combining concerts and DJ sessions. They kick off on 21st April with Celia Carrera, a DJ from the Cantabria region based in Pamplona, whose sound takes in genres like dub, house, bass and techno, with influences from the British scene. Next day it will be the turn of Adrian Alegria, a Basque-Navarrese artist who will be giving a session marked by house and organic sounds drawing on disco, funk, jazz and soul. On Thursday 23rd April the spotlight falls on the live show at Txintxarri by Love’n’Joy, one of the top bands on today's Ukrainian indie rock scene. The same evening, the programme features a session by Masquepop at the Tarántula venue. Friday 24th April is one of the top dates with concerts at Txintxarri by Bernal and Comic Sans, who will be presenting their latest releases. Radio 3 will once again be coming to the festival with its Tres en la Carretera programme, directed and presented by Isabel Ruiz Lara. This will combine interviews with film-makers and live musical performances in the Plaza de la Constitución (Baluarte). Tuesday 21st April will see a performance by Hondora, a project made up of Elisa Bayona and Ibai Gallardo to explore topics like the duel and internal processes through a sound close to folk, pop and rock. On Wednesday 22nd April it will be the turn of Annie Wonder, an American artist based in Los Angeles, offering a psychedelic sound experience based on synthesisers, vocoders and experimental electronica. In fact, she is featured in OAO, a film by Rocío Mesa that is part of the Official Selection at the festival.

Entrance to most of the activities will be free until full, reinforcing the open, accessible nature of the festival. With this programme, Punto de Vista continues to consolidate its commitment to the dialogue between film and music, as well as showcasing the current scene, both local and international.
