Alan Berliner. First Cousin Once Removed

A regular at Punto de Vista, Alan Berliner is coming back to show his latest work, First Cousin Once Removed. In this film, he picks up the legacy from Traslating Edwin Honig: A Poet’s Alzheimer, the film that earned him the Award for Best Short Film in 2011. After two films about himself – The Sweetest Sound and Wide Awake –, this time Berliner points his camera at a relative, his cousin Edwin Honig, poet and translator, to record the effects of the relentless march of Alzheimer’s. Ironically, this second-person movie is perhaps his most personal in a long time. And for a first-person filmmaker like Berliner, that is quite a lot.
