2012 Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen

Sinopsis

Within the different close-ups of paradise studied in this ISLANDS programme, this is undoubtedly the most risky. A camera is left abandoned to the mercy of the waves on a surf board   lost by its owner in the middle of the sea… The camera continues filming in an eight-minute scene without any cuts, like a bottle thrown into the ocean to finally wash up on the southern coast of Sumatra. Some children rescue it and we watch their family’s confusion regarding a mysterious object that has come from nowhere. It is a film exercise without a filmmaker which provides us with an anthropological portrait.
