Taxidermy as a trap for the future. The trick is to petrify the flow of time into a motionless present. The setting: State Museum of Natural History and Wilhelma Zoo and Botanical Garden in Stuttgart. The privilege: a night tour of the garden of Eden in the light of a torch. Future broken into its simplest elements, a kind of Noah’s Ark without a beating heart where the species are all asleep, waiting for the eye that will bring them back to life.
