|SYRIAN SHORT FILMS|
Direction: Marah Al Hassan
Marah, aged 15, presents the only observational piece in this series of short films by girl refugees, with no dialogue. Her collection of postcards of a childhood lived on a terrain that appears to negate her is a note of optimism. The precariousness of life in a refugee camp becomes a space for recreation, and in this wilderness, child’s play deploys all its tools for survival. Puddles are swimming pools, plastic bags become makeshift kites. Behind this drama, a great truth: a child is never alone.
