Claudini plays at misleading with his title, there are no Balinese instruments in the sound, but there are Steve Reich’s Six Pianos which are perfect for this first flying film. The Argentinean filmmaker invents a device like a Davidian sling to which he ties his camera and he makes it turn and turn around the landscape whilst filming. The result: earth, sky, earth, sky and once more earth, sky, in a circular film that appears to accompany the planet Earth in its rotational drifting. The camera beyond the human eye as the greatest of blasphemies to filming rules.
