Barriers of Separation

Year2015 Duration4 min. DirectorRaghad Al Khatib

Raghad marks her 18th birthday away from home, in a foreign land that is not her own. It is then that she realises that the world cannot fit in the palm of her hand. Not even if you combine Syria with Jordan and Kuwait. Her first-person narrative tells us that the worst part about exile is losing sight of your family. Getting up every day and not having your parents by your side is like being mute, blind, and deaf all at once.
