The Invention of Reality

The filmmaker, Sergio Oksman, will offer a workshop called The Invention of Reality, in which he will examine the blurry line between genres. Is it legitimate for documentary to use fiction tools?  What are the limits? From the idea to the final cut, what uncertainties does the director face? How can Reality be built during the writing, filming and editing of a film? These are some of the questions that Oksman will deal with in this activity aimed at students and artists, filmmakers, writers or creators of any discipline.

This workshop will take place during Punto de Vista 2017, as part of the many activities that the festival has organised around the city and region of Pamplona at cultural centres who share an artistic outlook with the event. The dates of the workshop will be Wednesday 8th March from 11.30am to 2pm; and on Thursday 9th March from 10.30am to 1pm. The registration fee is €15. To participate in the workshop, it is necessary to fill in and send the registration form to: actividades@centrohuarte.es by 1st March. On 2nd March, the selected participants will be notified and the account number will be issued to make the payment. Registration will not be effective until payment has been made.  The capacity is limited to a maximum of 20 participants.

Sergio Oksman will participate in the 11th edition of Punto de Vista as a member of the Selection Committee of the 7th edition of the X Films Project. Along with him, this Jury is made up of the director and writer, Iván Pintor, and the producer and director, Víctor Candeias. During the festival, they will be responsible for analysing and judging the works proposed by the filmmakers, María Cañas, Pilar Monsell and Omar Razzak, who will present samples of their previous work to the public in an open session and will also defend these new documentary proposals filmed in Navarra in another session.
