On the slopes of the Pyrenees in Navarra, the construction of the Itoiz reservoir in the nineteen-nineties flooded seven villages and three nature reserves. Today, a bare strip of land at a height above sea level of 592 m, marks a dividing line in the valley scenery. Water lies below it; life goes on above it.
