Casa Blanca

Year2015 Duration62 min. DirectorAleksandra Maciuszek

Here, Casa Blanca is the name of a small fishing village in the Gulf of La Habana. The two subtle and poetic stars of the film live there: Nelsa and Vladimir, mother and son. She is an old woman and he has Down’s syndrome. Neither of them can manage alone, but together they achieve an incredible machinery to get on with their lives. Simple lives, full of whispers and caresses, but they are also exposed to the threat of drifting apart. “You were born a prince”, she says to him, whilst he helps her to have a bath. They share a bed in a Cuban corner where they are the kings of their dreams.
