Cidade Pequena (Small Town)

Year2016 Duration19 min. DirectorDiogo Costa Amarante

Frederico learnt at school that when the heart stops, people die. Terrified, he could not sleep that night. To protect him, his mother moved to the country with him in full contact with animals and nature, where they enjoy the peacefulness of the place with parsimony and amazement. Together with them, his uncle, the filmmaker himself, who imagines the world from the eyes of a sleeping child through the inevitable passing of time, creates a panoramic dance between reality and fiction which finally challenges his childhood. It is September and time for the village festivals. Everything is new and exciting for the first time ever and, who knows, it will be for the last time.
