When asked about her practice as an artist upon returning to the United States, Hafif said: “I wanted to take a break from painting and try out other creative methods. So I bought a Super 8 camera and some photography equipment. The first film that I made was my best. I took pictures in black and white and held the camera still on a single cloud for three minutes. The cloud changed shape slowly and floated away”.
