Juan is a farmer who moves to the city in search for new job opportunities. When he arrives, he is faced with an atmosphere of exploitation in the construction industry. In this context, where survival is a tough job, he gets involved in murky affairs as a result of some jewellery he is asked to take care of. Using the resources of genre films, El andamio is an original, fierce, and pessimistic portraiture of Spain in the 1950s.

Rogelio Amigo
Rogelio Amigo. Hewas bornin A Coruña and now lives in Madrid. He is a scriptwriter for film and TV, and works as an assistant director in the Department of Filmed Programmes of TVE (more than 100 programmes). He has been assistant director to the likes of Ruiz-Castillo, Guerin, Martínez-Lázaro, Camus, Fernández-Santos, Yagüe, and Mercero, working with them in over 20 films. Amigo is now working on his next film, Material de archivo.
