Spanish premiere

A portrait of the last days of Welsh farming woman, Betty French. After a sudden visit from the ministry, Betty is forced to give up her farm, her animals, and the life she’s always led. This film focuses on the interactions, both comic and tragic between Betty, her animals, and the environment they share. It seeks to ask questions about these fragile symbiotic relationships and the difficulties that arise when they begin to break down.

Adam Gutch and Chu-Li Shewring have been collaborating since 2007. Often taking inspiration from uncanny aspects of the natural world, and the creatures and people who inhabit these environments, they like to combine both non-fictional and fictional approaches in their filmmaking.
