2012 Festival de Artes Escénicas In-Presentable. La Casa Encendida, Madrid

A film that came about as a scenographic project but was never carried out and has found its perfect place in an audiovisual exercise on spoken and commentated film. The stage creator Itsaso Arana will put the finishing touch with her film John y Gena to the ninth edition of the Punto de Vista Film Festival on Sunday 15th February. The film brings together a series of confessions from friends who talk personally about the love that once existed between them and the creator. It is supported by the images of John Cassavetes and Gena Rowlands, and with them, the perception of the wise decisions and mysteries of a couple in film and in real life. The screening is rounded off with a live intervention by Itsaso Arana herself, which turns the film into a living, unique and unrepeatable experience, always new, always different. Filmmaker Víctor Iriarte writes about John y Gena: “For me it is a film to cy. Not sad, but to cry over, to watch.”

ITSASO ARANA

(Tafalla, Navarra, 1985)
In 2004, she formed La Tristura stage arts group, with which she creates and directs her own works. She has performed her shows in theatres and festivals in Spain, France, Germany or Brazil. As an actress, she has worked in film and television productions, such as Las Altas Presiones, released in 2014 and was awarded the Prize for Best Film in Las Nuevas Olas section at the 11th Seville European Film Festival.
