Kevin Jerome Everson
Filmed above the skies in Saluda, North Carolina on August 21, 2017, during the 2017 eclipse across North America. Part of an ongoing series of films documenting the eclipse, including the black and white Polly Two (2018) and an untitled film to be shot in Chile during the solar eclipse in summer 2019.
Kevin Jerome Everson (1965) was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio. He has a MFA from Ohio University and a BFA from the University of Akron. He is Professor of Art at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. Everson was awarded the 2012 Alpert Award for Film/Video; his award winning films -9 features and over 140 shorts- have been the subject of mid-career retrospectives at the Whitney Museum of American Art; Harvard Film Archive; Glasgow Short Film Fest; MMCA, Seoul; Centre Pompidou; Visions du Reel; Cinema du Reel.
