In his fifth film, Pablo Chavarría opts for the limit of the real to propose a sensorial and elusive journey through a court case that has not been resolved in Chiapas. In June 2000, four policemen are murdered. A teacher and an activist of the Mexican region, Alberto Patishán, is sentenced to 60 years in prison for this. From time to time, we hear the letters he writes to his children: “Hope is a naive contract with time”, he wrote to them. Abstraction and hypnosis as the best way of filming a justice that is not clear and the violence in a country that he unsuccessfully tries to avoid.
