THE RED SPECTRE

Year1907 Duration9 min. DirectorSegundo de Chomón, Ferdinand Zecca
This short film by Segundo de Chomón and Ferdinand Zecca is characterised by primitive colour and more sophisticated special effects than in previous works by the filmmaker from Aragón. The film follows a skeletal figure that conjures up a series of women to do really impressive tricks. Through visual trickery, the dark side takes over the screen in a most unusual film for the time when it was shot.
