The Train Stop

Year2000 Duration25 min. DirectorSergei Loznitsa

A timeless film, or a film about no-time. The technical trick here is to fix the shot in a long pause and strip it of activity. And then do it again. Non-stop, for 20 minutes. Passengers waiting at the station for a train that never comes. The wait becomes the only action and time is punctuated by a summer fly or a winter wind blowing through a door.
