Ernesto Baca was born in Florencio Varela, Buenos Aires, in 1969. He studied Film Direction and Video Production at the CIEVYC. Baca is a filmmaker and also a Professor in several Argentinian Universities. He has made experimental features, feature films and documentaries which have been awarded locally and internationally. His first feature film,
Cabeza de Palo (2002), was screened at Bafici, Locarno and Alternativa in Barcelona. His experimental film Samoa (2005) was awarded with the Buenos Aires Fondo de Cultura. He was also a curator of the experimental section of the season “New Argentinian Film”, hold in Amsterdam, and juror for the Regards Neuf Section at the Nyon Festival, Vision du Reel. In 2007 he presented his video installation
Semen at the Mar de Plata Festival. His film
Música para astronautas, shot entirely in Super 8, was part of Punto de Vista 2010.
