Song: Hilltop Pibroch
Singer: Lilane
Production: Alex Pirie
A film structured around seven poems that combine echoes, rhymes and self-referenced comparisons. Almost all of the recurring imagery in Margaret Tait’s films is here in these filmed verses: cranes and buildings under construction–metaphor of a film that is never ended –, fire, sea, snow, a yearned-after childhood, sidelong looks through the windows, traditional music… Everything is found in the daily pace of life in Edinburgh. Like Lorca, Tait roams the streets in search of an image. And she does so melancholically in a film that is built with its own logic.
