Laida Lertxundi is an artist, filmmaker and the Coordinator of the Department of Filmmaking Studies at the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola. Her work, shot mainly on 16 mm, moves between internal spaces of intimacy and the large scale of great open landscapes, with the aim of encompassing a geography transformed by subjectivity and affective states. Her films have been shown at festivals and galleries all over the world: Locarno, Toronto, Rotterdam, New York, Gijón, MoMa, Tate Modern and Whitechapel Gallery. She has also done exhibitions in Matadero, LUX, FuturDome,Tabakalera, Azkuna Zentroa, Katonah Museum of Art, Hammer Museum, Biennial in La Habana and Biennial in Lyon. Her book "Landscape Plus" was published in 2019. Her work is distributed by LUX in London and is part of the collection of Museo Reina Sofía.
