September 30 was the deadline for films to enter the Official Selection of the 7th edition of the Punto de Vista Documentary Film Festival, to take place in Pamplona from February 22 to 27, 2011.
September 30 was the deadline for films to enter the Official Selection of the 7th edition of the Punto de Vista Documentary Film Festival, to take place in Pamplona from February 22 to 27, 2011. Now, the twenty-odd films in competition will be chosen from all the candidates. The selection results will be announced in December.
The entries for the Official Selection this year hail from 61 different countries, the largest numbers being from Spain, the United States, France, Poland, Mexico, Argentina, and the United Kingdom. Other places of origin include Israel, Taiwan, Australia, Turkey, India, Canada, Mozambique, and Korea.
The selected films will be eligible to the Festival's awards: Punto de Vista Grand Award for Best Film (€10,000), Jean Vigo Award to Best Director (€5,500), and Award for Best Short Film (€3,500). Besides, there will be two Honourable Mentions (€1,250 each). Finally, the audience will vote for their favourite film in the People's Choice Award for Best Film (€2,500).
