The films that were granted awards in the 7th Punto de Vista Film Festival are coming to Vitoria-Gasteiz to be screened at the Basque Museum and Centre for Contemporary Art, ARTIUM, from Thursday June 16 to Sunday June 19. Framed within the Museum’s film programme, which is free and open to the general public, some of the award winning films at the past edition of Punto de Vista, plus the three movies produced in the Festival, are being screened in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

The films being shown are Foreign Parts, by Véréna Paravel and J.P. Sniadecki (Punto de Vista Award for Best Film), The Arbor, by Clio Barnard (Jean Vigo Award for Best Director), and Color Runaway Dog, by Andrés Duque (People’s Choice Award). They are thus part of a project aimed at strengthening relations between the Festival and various art centres and film festivals around the world, creating distribution and visibility networks for the films that enter the Festival, and offering the people in Vitoria-Gasteiz the chance to see a sample of the cinema that Punto de Vista advocates.

In addition, the cycle at ARTIUM is to include the two films shot by Jem Cohen during his stay in Pamplona in 2010, Crossing Paths with Luce Vigo and Opus Luminis et Hominis (Works of Light and Man), and the first film produced in the context of the X Films Project, Chus Domínguez’s Notas de lo efímero/Notes on the Ephemeral.
