79 professionals and 29 students have signed up for the 1st Punto de Vista Seminar, 2012 – a meeting point for independent film directors and audiences, screening new non-fiction films in the spirit of Navarra’s Film Festival. In the 1st edition, from 22 to 25 February, the seminar will focus on the works of Amir Muhammad and Sylvain George. Tickets to watch the seminar’s films (which will be open to the general public) are now available.
79 professionals and 29 students have signed up for the 1st Punto de Vista Seminar, 2012 – a meeting point for independent film directors and audiences, screening new non-fiction films in the spirit of Navarra’s Film Festival. In the 1st edition, from 22 to 25 February, the seminar will focus on the works of Amir Muhammad and Sylvain George. Tickets to watch the seminar’s films (which will be open to the general public) are now available.
From 22 to 25 February, documentary film shall take the stage at the Navarra Film Library thanks to the 1st Punto de Vista Seminar, 2012. 79 professionals (66 of them from the film industry) and 29 students have signed up for this major cultural event, a meeting with independent and committed filmmakers. In the 1st edition, the seminar will show the work of directors Amir Muhammad and Sylvain George, from Malaysia and France, respectively. 105 attendees come from Spain (28 from Navarra) and 3 from foreign countries (Uruguay, Iceland and France).

The screenings of the seminar will be open to the general public. Tickets are now available at the box office of the Navarra Film Library (16-17 Feb, 7:30-8:00 p.m.; 22-24 Feb, 3:30-8:00 p.m.). Individual tickets are €3, but you can also buy season tickets (5 tickets for €10, 2 tickets per film max.). Holders of Navarra Film Library season tickets will also have entry to these film screenings. Finally, the X Films Project screening (free admission) will take place on 24 February at 8:00 p.m. (4 tickets per person max.).

Surprise film for end of seminar
The seminar starts on 22 February at 4:00 p.m., with retrospectives on both Amir Muhammad and Sylvain George.
Then, on Thursday, 23 February, there will be a master class with Muhammad at 10:00 a.m., followed by a discussion of film essay and commitment, featuring both directors. In the afternoon, some of their films will be screened.
On Friday, 24 February, it will be Sylvain George’s time for master class. It will be followed by a discussion of the poetics of urgency, again with both filmmakers. In the afternoon, two more of their films will be screened. Then at 8:00 p.m., a new edition of the X Films Project for the general public (free admission), presenting the film projects by this year’s three guest filmmakers (Oskar Alegría, Diana Toucedo and Jorge Tur) and screening the winning film of the X Films Project 2011: Goitik behera, Behetik gora, by WeareQQ, a duo made by Usue Arrieta and Vicente Vázquez.
On Saturday, 25 February, there will be a new X Films Project 2012 session. The closing ceremony will take place at noon, to be followed by a surprise film at 1:00 p.m.
