The Navarra International Documentary Film Festival – Punto de Vista is once again to become a meeting point for university students with an interest in the latest developments in non-fiction film.

The Navarra International Documentary Film Festival – Punto de Vista is once again to become a meeting point for university students with an interest in the latest developments in non-fiction film.

This is why at the Festival’s 8th edition, to be held in Pamplona from 19 to 24 February 2013, students from nine universities and film schools in Spain who have done film and video courses are being invited to attend all sessions for free. The universities and film schools are ECAM, Escuela de Cinematografía y del Audiovisual de la Comunidad de Madrid (Community of Madrid Film and Video School); ESCAC, Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya (Catalonian Higher School of Film and Video); UAB, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Barcelona Autonomous University); Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Madrid Carlos III University); Universidad de Navarra (University of Navarra); UPNA, Universidad Pública de Navarra (Pubic University of Navarra); UPV, Universidad del País Vasco (University of the Basque Country); Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Rey Juan Carlos University); and URV, Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Rovira i Virgili University).

Fifteen students from each of these universities will be invited to attend the Festival. They will get accreditation and the publications of the 8th edition.

In seven editions, Punto de Vista has become a reference event in non-fiction film at the national and international levels. It has screened retrospectives on Ermanno Olmi, James Benning and Jem Cohen, premiered films by leading experimental documentary directors like Andrés Duque, Virginia García del Pino, Isaki Lacuesta and the group ‘Los Hijos’, organised events or published materials on the history of Japanese film or feminist documentaries, among other topics.
