Punto de Vista will hold an international film seminar in February 2014

Pamplona will host again in February a meeting with the non-fiction film. Punto de Vista is working on the preparation of a new edition of its seminar, an event for teaching and film showings, bridging the gap between editions of the festival, as the festival is held every two years.

Oskar Alegria, new Artistic Director of the Punto de Vista film Festival

Taking over from Josetxo Cerdán, Oskar Alegria will be the Artistic Director of the Punto de Vista Festival for the next four years. The festival is maintaining its policy of having two directors, an Artistic Director, a position that is periodically renewed, and an Executive Director. Ana Herrera will once again be the Executive Director in this new period, having previously held this position between 2005 and 2010. The festival is organised and funded by the Regional Government of Navarre, through Fundación INAAC. In February of 2014, Punto de Vista will be holding an international seminar, the dates for which will be announced soon.

8th Punto de Vista Festival draws more than 8,000 moviegoers

Now that the Festival’s 8th edition has finished, figures about moviegoers reveal that Punto de Vista, now in the festival format again after the 2012 seminar, is back in shape. This year, the Festival’s activities and events drew 8,490 people, that is, over 2,000 more than in 2011 (6,106), 3,000 more than in 2010 (5,236) and 4,000 more than in 2009 (4,353). This means that the number of attendees doubled in five years.

Winners of the 8th edition of Punto de Vista

The chinese film Apuda, by He Yuan, has won the First Prize Punto de Vista for the best film, in the 2013 edition of Punto de Vista film festival. John Smith, author of Dad’s Stick, has been elected best director (Jean Vigo Prize). Toma Dos, by Pilar Alvarez (best short film) and A World not Ours, by Mahdi Fleifel (prize of the Public, are the other two films awarded. The Jury has also decided to give special mentions to the films The Florestine Collection, by Paul Gailiunas and Helen Hill, and El modelo, by Germán Scelso.

Oskar Alegria’s exposition, ‘Emak Bakia, Objects Found’ from tomorrow at Civivox Condestable

Tickets, handbill and other stuff now available to Punto de Vista audiences

Tickets for Punto de Vista sessions will be available for sale from Saturday 9 February. Session tickets are €4, and there is a ticket package (five sessions) for €15. All the sessions will take place at the Saide Carlos III Cinema Theatres, except for Processes and special events, to be held at Civivox Condestable. This will also be the venue of the exhibition Emak Bakia: Objects Found, and the closing ceremony on Sunday 24. Free tickets for the opening ceremony, on Tuesday 19 at 8.00pm, can be picked up at the box office one hour before.
