Processes: a new window opened by Punto de Vista to Navarra film “Processes” is a new section within PdV dedicated to film-makers from Navarra who are currently in the process of creating documentaries or non-fiction audiovisual proposals. This meeting point aims to put the public in contact with the documentary makers and their work, whereby they will expand on the creative process behind their films and show some excerpts of them.

The Central Region bets on renovation in Spanish film Four Spanish directors are showing their latest films in The Central Region, the Punto de Vista section dedicated to international avant-garde films. This year, The Central Region is focusing on Spanish films, in an effort to contribute to the Festival’s internationalisation by showing Spanish productions to a global audience.

Applications for accreditations are now being accepted for the 8th edition of Punto de Vista, taking place between 19th and 24th February From today (10th January) until 8th February, industry professionals and journalists can apply for official accreditation and passes for the 8th edition of Punto de Vista on the festival webpage.

Eduardo Coutinho: Gaze and Voice is the title of the retrospective on the Brazilian director, presented at PdV 2013 Punto de Vista 2013 will present a brief retrospective of the film-maker Eduardo Coutinho, acknowledged as the greatest Brazilian documentary film-maker of the last three decades since, in 1985, he recovered an unfinished project from the previous decade, which would eventually become Cabra marcado para morrer, one of the key titles in Brazilian and Latin American filmography.

A Spell to Ward Off the Darkness (work in progress), the eagerly-awaited collaboration between Ben Rivers and Ben Russell showing at a special session in Punto de Vista 2013 Punto de Vista 2013 will feature a special session dedicated to the first feature film created jointly by the film-makers Ben Rivers and Ben Russell: A Spell to Ward Off the Darkness, which will be presented as a work in progress.

Marina Díaz, Carolina López and María Zamora will be sitting on the selection panel for the X Films 2013 project Punto de Vista will be hosting the 4th edition of the X Films project in February. As part of the Heterodocsias section, this project aims to produce an audiovisual creation, chosen by a panel of experts from the proposals submitted by three young film-makers. The three creators chosen on this occasion, Greta Alfaro, Lois Patiño and Francina Verdés, will defend their projects to a panel made up of three audiovisual industry professionals: María Zamora, Marina Díaz and Carolina López.
