Extinct Tasmanian tiger and sound mosaic for Punto de Vista 2013 trailer, by Kikol Grau

What do a Tasmanian tiger (extinct in the 1930s), the soundtracks of 1950s B movies of alien invasions, Megaupload and Basque Radical Rock have in common? Maybe nothing, unless an indomitable, heterodox filmmaker like Kikol Grau chooses to bring them together, for the sake of fun and provocation, in the Punto de Vista 2013 trailer. An invitation to reinvent ourselves and rely on our creative potential in times of darkness.

Kikol Grau took his first professional steps in BTV (Barcelona Televisión), where we worked as a cultural show director and editor for seven years. In 1997, he got the Miramar Award for Best Local TV Production in Catalonia, Por La Kara TV.

In 2002, his show Gabinete de crisis got an Honorary Mention at the Zemos98 Festival for most caustic TV show. Here Grau was a writer and director alongside Félix Pérez-Hita and Arturo Bastón. The show won the First Prize at the Animalario Festival in Seville in 2007.

Grau also established an Internet TV channel, Si te he visto no te aguanto TV, making independent programmes and compiling alternative cultural shows.

Kikol is also interested in music. He has made many independent video clips.

This new trailer renews Punto de Vista’s commitment to young filmmakers. Since 2010, the Festival has hired emerging directors to make one of its most visible emblems. Víctor Iriarte, Fernando Franco and Daniel Cuberta preceded Grau in this task.
