Punto de Vista, guest festival at the Flahertiana de Perm Festival (Russia)

As Guest Festival at the 2014 edition of the prestigious Russian Flahertiana Festival in Perm, Punto de Vista Festival has presented four films and given a master class to the audience and public. It presented E Agora? Lembra-me directed by Joaquim Pinto and a programme of short film consisting of El sastre/The Tailor by Óscar Pérez and El conserje/The Caretaker by Pablo Baur, Punto de Vista has filled two afternoons of the programme at the Russian event.

Foco Punto de Vista presents a special session programmed and presented by the L´Atalante Cinema in Bayonne on Thursday 25th September

The next session of FOCO Punto de Vista will establish a further link between the cities of Pamplona and Bayonne, this time at the hands of film. As part of this cycle, held by the festival in conjunction with the Navarra Film Library, Punto de Vista offers a special session on Thursday, 25th September, screened at the famous L´Atalante cinema in Bayonne, a veteran venue in the independent film programme and which has always been defined for giving an opportunity to new proposals. Like the Pamplona Festival, the Bayonne venue shares its name and devotion for French film-maker, Jean Vigo, author of the mythical film called L´Atalante, responsible for coining the phrase that gives its name to our festival by paving the way for films that give priority to the “documentary point of view”.

New selection committee at Punto de Vista Film Festival

Koldo Almandoz, Özge Calafato, Alexei Dmitriev and Guillermo G. Peydró are the new members of the Punto de Vista selection committee. They will join artistic director Oskar Alegria on the Festival’s new stage. The selection committee will be responsible for the programme of the Punto de Vista Official Selection 2015, which they will work on from July to December 2014, when the titles of the films will be announced.

Call for films for 9th Punto de Vista film festival

Punto de Vista is now calling for films to enter the Official Selection of its 9th edition. The terms and conditions as well as the registration form are available on the festival’s website. Registration deadline is September 30.

Oskar Alegria, Member of the Jury at Nyon and Karlovy Vary

The artistic director of the Punto de Vista Festival, Oskar Alegria, has been invited to form part of two of the most important documentary juries in Europe. Last week, Alegria participated in the Visions du Réel Festival, which has just closed its 45th edition in Nyon, Switzerland, as a jury member of the Regard Neuf section, which presented the debut films of 19 international filmmakers. Our artistic director was accompanied on the jury by the Portuguese producer, Luis Urbano, and the Italian filmmakers, Massimo D´Anolfi and Martina Parenti.

Les Films Rêvés, next session of the FOCO Punto de Vista Cycle

On Wednesday 28th May, Punto de Vista presents a new session of the FOCO Punto de Vista cycle, a space to present up-to-date, non-fiction films from all over the world, at the Navarra Film Library. New Foco Punto de Vista Session on 24th April

On Thursday 24th April, Punto de Vista presents a new session of the FOCO Punto de Vista cycle, a space to present up-to-date, non-fiction films from all over the world, at the Navarra Film Library. On this occasion, Stories We Tell will be presented, the latest film by Sarah Polley, the most personal project of this Canadian actress and director in which she delves into her own family history.

1,840 moviegoers at Punto de Vista Seminar 2014

The 2nd Punto de Vista Seminar has come to a close, and the 11 screenings open to the public have been a huge success in terms of the number of attendees. A remarkable fact for the Punto de Vista Festival, which is coming back next year in February. As many as 1,840 moviegoers attended the sessions at the Navarra Film Library and the Saide Carlos III movie theatre complex, that is, an average audience of 150 at the former and of 248 at the latter. The morning sessions, focusing on the films by Ignacio Agüero and Pema Tseden, were attended by the 128 people who had registered for them.
