Foco Punto de Vista presents a special session programmed and presented by the L´Atalante Cinema in Bayonne on Thursday 25th September

The next session of FOCO Punto de Vista will establish a further link between the cities of Pamplona and Bayonne, this time at the hands of film. As part of this cycle, held by the festival in conjunction with the Navarra Film Library, Punto de Vista offers a special session on Thursday, 25th September, screened at the famous L´Atalante cinema in Bayonne, a veteran venue in the independent film programme and which has always been defined for giving an opportunity to new proposals. Like the Pamplona Festival, the Bayonne venue shares its name and devotion for French film-maker, Jean Vigo, author of the mythical film called L´Atalante, responsible for coining the phrase that gives its name to our festival by paving the way for films that give priority to the “documentary point of view”.

Simon Blondeau, programmer at L´Atalante, will be responsible for presenting this special session which aims to establish a film twinning between the two cities. More specifically, the session will consist of two works by the young French documentary maker, Laetitia Mikles. The first, Kijima Stories, is a short half-hour film shot in 2013, which introduces us to the mystery of the Japanese mafia and its strange forms of recruitment. The second, a feature film lasting 52 minutes which, under the title of Rien ne s'efface, takes us to another Japanese mystery, that of the fragile and profound world of the famous film-maker, Naomi Kawase.
