La Casa de Mi Padre (My Father’s House), award winner at the Alcances Festival, will tour diverse film festivals this autumn
La casa de mi padre, the film by Francina Verdés produced by Punto de Vista within the framework of the X Films Project, could not have had a better start to its film festival tour: on 13th September, it took away the award for the Best Medium-length Documentary Film at the Alcances Documentary Film Festival. Following its visit to Cadiz, the film will be presented at the Cinespaña Festival in Toulouse this autumn (3rd-12th October), at Som Cinema in Lleida (23rd-26th October) and at Transcinema in Lima, in November.

The jury of the 46th edition of the Atlantic Cinematographic Show, Alcances, highlighted “the appropriateness of a narrative idea that requires personal courage to question traditions and values which still prevail in contemporary society” regarding the film by Francina Verdés. The “Caracola - Alcances” Award for the Best Medium-length Documentary Film offers 5,000 Euros in prize money and a trophy from the Provincial Government of Cadiz.
The film was the winner of the X Films Project called by the Punto de Vista Documentary Film Festival 2013 and was premiered last February at the 2nd International Seminar called by the festival. X Films is a project that offers emerging documentary makers the opportunity to shoot an audiovisual essay creation in Navarra. The winning production is produced by the Department for Culture, Tourism and Institutional Relations of the Government of Navarra, organiser of Punto de Vista.
