A photo found in a street market in Paris will be the poster announcing the next edition of Punto de Vista Festival Untitled, black and white, anonymous. The photograph chosen to announce Punto de Vista International Documentary Film Festival was taken in the 1950s by a tourist visiting a cave in France, the “Gouffre de Padirac”, at the Occitan Pyrenees. Little else is known about it. It shows some nuns on a boat sailing across one of the cave’s ponds. Time and destiny wanted it to land in a flea market in Paris and come to the hands of the organisers of Punto de Vista last summer.

Call for films for 10th Punto de Vista film festival Punto de Vista is now calling for films to enter the Official Selection (entitled “The Central Region”) of its 10th edition. The terms and conditions as well as the registration form are available on the festival’s website. Registration deadline is September 30.

Iosseliani will visit Punto de Vista The Georgian filmmaker, Otar Iosseliani, will be the final guest of honour at the Punto de Vista Festival and will be here on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th to present a selection of his documentary work and to give a Master Class on his films.

Bernardo Atxaga will write the prologue to Punto de Vista with a conference accompanied by Chris Wertenbaker The Navarra Punto de Vista International Documentary Film Festival, which will be held at the Baluarte, Pamplona from 10th to 15th February, will have a wonderful prologue by the Basque writer, Bernardo Atxaga, who will give a conference, entitled Ziburu accompanied by Chris Wertenbaker, who, at the age of eleven, starred in the documentaries filmed by Orson Welles in the French Basque Country. At the end of the conference, Chris Wertenbaker will give a short guitar concert with songs he learnt in his childhood on the Basque coast, accompanied by the Paz de Ziganda school choir.

The Punto de Vista catalogue for the 9th edition and the book, Hen Means Honey. Chosen poems and essays about cinema by Margaret Tait will be on sale on Monday 9th February. Just one day before the inauguration of the ninth edition, the festival catalogue and the latest issue of the Punto de Vista collection will go on sale on Monday 9th February. Both publications can be purchased from the Government of Navarra's Publications Section (both online and in its headquarters in Calle Navas de Tolosa, 21) and in Baluarte, the headquarters of this edition.
