An old postcard from 1910 showing a leafy tree, a windmill and the silhouettes of two people serving as a measure of the whole. In this quiet landscape, the treetop is brought to life by the wind as the rest of the scene is frozen in the past. This visual play makes the header of the 10th Punto de Vista Festival. A hypnotic video that perfectly depicts the Festival’s central theme: time. The video was shot by the multi-faceted Belgian artist David Claerbout, also obsessed with time, as shown by his films and installations in big museums and art centres. In fact, the video that will be used to open the Punto de Vista screenings is part of Claerbout’s long-length video installation Ruurlo, Borculoscheweg, 1910, 1997.
