The deadline for entries to the Punto de Vista festival closed in September, having been open for the three summer months. For the third year running, the festival has received over a thousand entries for its official section, highlighting, as pointed out by its artistic director Oskar Alegria, "the good health and growing international interest in this film festival". Feature-length and short films from the four corners of the world have reached the festival mailbox, dreaming and hoping to be among those chosen for this international competition. Of these thousand or so films, only 17 will be chosen to compete in the official section, including short and feature films, hence the high level of competition and the task of choosing them, which is now in the hands of the organisers. Koldo Almandoz, Guillermo G. Peydró, Alexei Dmitriev and Ozge Calafato will be supporting Alegria once again in this endeavour of narrowing down which films will be shown as part of the competition.
The next edition of Punto de Vista, which will be the eleventh, will take place in Baluarte during the week of 6-11 March (Monday to Saturday).
