The cellist Maite Arroitajauregi and the writer Harkaitz Cano will provide live music and poetry to accompany the film.

The Sound We See has rolled into Pamplona with a challenge: to capture the city’s most evocative and unique corners over 24 hours on Super 8 cameras and with 16mm film, and make a symphony of the city in just 15 days. The 24 people who signed up to this film laboratory organised by Punto de Vista have been bringing life to the idea since the 23rd of February. Their personal views of Pamplona will be recorded in this film, to be premiered on the 10th of March in the Chamber Room of the Baluarte Auditorium as an emotional farewell to Punto de Vista 2018.

The project has reached Pamplona after travelling the world filming symphonies of everywhere it has visited. The premise is always the same: film lovers and filmmakers from the cities direct and shoot their footage on analog film. The idea came to life at a local media arts centre in Los Angeles which focuses on analog filmmaking resources, the Echo Park Film Center, and has toured the Netherlands, Vietnam, India, Canada, the UK, Germany, Japan, Sweden, Mexico, Bulgaria and Latvia. The catalysts behind the project, Lisa Marr and Paolo Davanzo, have now pitched up in Pamplona to make a communal film portrait of the city.

A Pamplona City Symphony will be screened with live musical accompaniment by Mursego, the stage name of cellist Maite Arroitajauregi, and poetry by Harkaitz Cano, who together will be presenting a soundtrack designed especially for the occasion.

The open, spontaneous dialogue between film, music and poetry, which isThe Sound We See: A Pamplona City Symphony will provide a dazzling, stimulating farewell to the twelfth edition of the International Documentary Film Festival of Navarra - Punto de Vista.

The event is scheduled to take place at Baluarte at 8 p.m. on the 10th of March. Tickets now on sale at http://puntodevistafestival.com and here.
