Punto de vista and Radio 3 continue to show their support for live music with acoustic concerts by Niño de Elche, Doctor Deseo, Las Kasettes and Monte del Oso
02/15/2018
El Séptimo Vicio, a leading radio programme on alternative film, returns to Katakrak from Monday 5th to Thursday 8th, from 20:00.

Punto de Vista continues to collaborate with Radio 3, completing its film offer with afternoons of radio and music in Katakrak. The prestigious journalist Javier Tolentino will present his successful programme El Séptimo Vicio from Pamplona. The radio event, open to the public, will invite guests from the world of cinema who will present their work on Punto de Vista, as well as live music from some of Spain’s most important bands. One particularly outstanding guest is Niño de Elche: free, heterodox and chameleon-like musician, which plays with the limits of music genres, such as flamenco, to then reinvent them. He is undoubtedly one of the most suggestive and fascinating artists in today’s independent music scene, and he will present his new album in Pamplona, “Antología del cante flamenco heterodoxo”.

One of the most relevant bands in the history of Basque rock will also visit El Séptimo Vicio: Doctor Deseo. This group, led by the extraordinary artist Francis Díez, will present its fifteenth album, “Igual y diferente. Una mirada distinta”. The Basque band members have spent over 30 years in the limelight, and have released some of the most recognisable hits on the Basque music scene, including La chica del Batzoki and Corazón de tango. Their offer of acoustic concerts is backed by two local bands: Monte del Oso - power pop with hints of the raw sounds of the 80s and 90s - and Las Kasettes, who will introduce their first LP.

Major personalities from the world of film and art such as Harmut Bitomsky, Andrés Duque, Oleg Nikolayevich Karavaychuk, Otar Iosseliani, Claire Simon and Victor Kossakovsky have visited Javier Tolentino’s programme during his collaboration with Punto de Vista. Radio 3 and El Séptimo Vicio have also hosted successful musicians such as El Drogas, Gari, Sherpa (Barón Rojo), Tonino Carotone, Jaime Cristobal, Kokoshca and Cabezafuego. A treat for radio, music and film lovers, returning to Pamplona this year.

The Punto de Vista Acoustics will be held from Monday 5th to Thursday 8th March, from 20:00 in the Katakrak Canteen:

  • Monday 5th - Doctor Deseo
  • Tuesday 6th - Las Kasettes
  • Wednesday 7th - Niño de Elche
  • Thursday 8th - Monte del Oso

NIÑO DE ELCHE

The artist known as Niño de Elche - Francisco Contreras Molina – has revolutionised the independent music scene with his personal and groundbreaking offer. Following the public and critical acclaim of his previous work, “Voces del extreme” (2015) – album of the year for mediums such as Radio 3, Rockdeluxe and El País – Niño de Elche is now back to present an album he describes as “a creative revolution, deeply politically charged and with rock and electronic music”. The album, “Antología del cante flamenco heterodoxo”, is released for sale on 23rd February.

DOCTOR DESEO

After a stage as Los Ginkas, Edurne Gin and Maier Kas decided to form Las Kasettes, a bright and danceable pop band reminiscent of 1960s music. In summer 2017 they released their first LP, Bajo el Sol, which has been well received by the public and specialised critics alike. One of the most important radio programmes for surf, garage and rock & roll music, El Sotano de Radio 3, selected the Navarran group as one of its 2017 favourites.

In Bajo el Sol Las Kasettes give us a collection of covers of bands such as Mickey Lee Lane, Annette Funicello, los Temblooores, Karatekas, Beach Boys, The Continental Co-ets!!, The Romancers, Elía y Elisabeth, The Chymes, The Clovers, Pleasure Seekers and Girls At Our Best

MONTE DEL OSO

The trio, comprising Ion Minde (Kaskezur, Tirita), Edu Ugarte (Half Foot Outside, Muy Fellini) and Luis Gómez, introduces its latest album, “Cosas que salvar de una casa en peligro”. A power pop album featuring raw sounds in which guitar melodies take the centre stage. This is the Navarran band’s third album, which whilst still drawing influence from Sugar, Superchunk, Hüsker Du and Dinosaur Jr, are keeping their eyes firmly on the future.
