03/26/2021

The festival is to hold its 16th edition in Pamplona from 14th to 19th March 2022.

NICDO, the body responsible for culture, sport and leisure infrastructure in Navarra, has opened the period for applications for the post of artistic director of the Punto de Vista festival, which is to hold its 16th edition in Pamplona from 14th to 19th March 2022. All the job conditions are available on the website Navarra.es. Candidates must submit their applications by 30th April.

The conditions for applications to be the new artistic director, with an annual contract renewable up to four years, specifies the price set, which is not subject to any scoring, and the requirements for the submission of applications. These include accreditation of technical and professional abilities, as well as criteria for rating this: qualitative (cultural interest and artistic quality of the project); fostering mediation and involvement of the region; mechanisms to ensure gender equality and inclusion, social diversity and inter-generational relations); and quantifiable using formulas.

The person responsible for artistic direction of the Punto de Vista festival is in charge of presenting a project plan describing its contents, with explicit detail of the different sections and information about its execution. He or she will also plan the festival programme within the time frame set and with the budget assigned, in line with principles of sustainability, propose projects and artists and deal with contacting and coordinating the artists and other guest professionals.

The Punto de Vista festival, promoted by the government of Navarra, has from the start opted for a dual management structure, separating the executive and artistic functions. The latter has also followed a strategy of changing every four years.

Thus, the four artistic directors in the fifteen years of Punto de Vista have been, in chronological order: Carlos Muguiro, the current director of the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola; Josetxo Cerdán, director of the Filmoteca Española; Oskar Alegria, a film-maker from Navarra who last year had the world première of his film ‘Zumiriki’, and Garbiñe Ortega, who this year ended her time at the festival after four years opting for the boldest non-fiction cinema. Each artistic director has made their mark on the personality of Punto de Vista, making it a benchmark for quality and one of the essential dates in the international calendar.

The festival is to hold its sixteenth edition from 14th to 19th March 2022.
