Punto de Vista sets up a new iniciative to show young people aged 15 to 19 how films are programmed at a festival
12/15/2021

Enrolment for Jóvenes Programadores x Punto de Vista (Young Programmers By Punto de Vista) is now open via the festival website.

The next edition of the Punto de Vista documentary film festival - backed by the culture department of the government of Navarra through the public company NICDO - will be organising, together with Cinema en Curs and in cooperation with the Caja Navarra foundation, the project Jóvenes Programadores x Punto de Vista (Young Programmers By Punto de Vista). In this project, 15 young people aged from 15 to 19 will be selected to programme and present one of the films at the festival. Enrolment is free and will be open from 19th January onwards, via the festival website www.puntodevistafestival.com/es/jovenes_programadores.asp.

This experience, part of the festival's educational programme, will bring together young people to watch a series of films proposed by Punto de Vista and then discuss them in order to select one to be screened at the festival. Under the guidance of film-maker and programmer Mercedes Álvarez and screen writer and film lecturer Arturo Redín and some of the festival team, over six sessions over February and March the Young Programmers will find out just what a programmer's job involves in a context like Punto de Vista. They will also present the film they have selected to the audience after the screening, as part of the festival to be held in Pamplona from 14th to 19th March 2022.

The group of Young Programmers can experience the festival for themselves from the inside, as active participants. They will also have their own accreditation to take part in all the activities planned.

This new initiative will be organised within the European project Moving Cinema, led by A Bao A Qu since 2014, an association working on the project Cinema en Curs, with many years of experience in contact with a range of festivals in Spain (Festival de Cine de Sevilla, D’A Film Festival and l’Alternativa) and other European countries (including BelDocs in Serbia, Kino Otok in Slovenia and Vilnius Film Festival in Lituania).
